Van Dijk: Winning the Liverpool Quartet is an almost impossible dream

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that it will be a dream come true if he beats the almost impossible quartet team this season.

Liverpool qualified for the FA Cup final for the first time since Jurgen Klopp took over as coach of the team after beating Manchester City in the semi-finals.

Van Dijk later said: “All this talk about a quartet or treble is coming from the outside world, and it could put a lot of pressure on us.”

He added: “No team has ever beaten a quartet. There is a reason for this – because it is almost impossible to achieve.”

Winning all the matches he participates in is something everyone dreams of, but let’s see what happens.

He added, “Manchester City are still top of the English Premier League table, and we face Villarreal in the Champions League semi-final, which will be a very tough clash.”

He added, “Anything can happen with other teams. We are thinking about each match individually.”

“We can not guarantee everyone’s readiness,” he stressed.

The British news agency “PA Media” reports that Van Dyck has been undergoing fitness and condition tests since returning to the team last August after a 10-month hiatus to operate on the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee.

The win against Manchester City is Liverpool’s first win over Manchester City in the last six games as they have drawn 2/2 twice this season.

But even if the two were separated by a point in the league table, Trent Alexander-Arnold did not think its psychological impact would be significant.

“As a team I don’t think we have to act to gain confidence,” he said.

He added: “We look at the dressing room, we look at the coach and the players, we look at what we like: things speak for themselves.”

He added, “I can only talk about our mood. We want to win every game we play and expect to win.”
