Chelsea manager Thomas Duchess said the transfer of ownership of the Premier League club would not affect his future at Stamford Bridge, adding that the London club was a “perfect fit” for him.
Chelsea are looking for new owners amid growing calls for sanctions against the metal magnate following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, following the announcement by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich that he would sell the club.
Asked if he had any problems staying with Chelsea, Duchess told reporters on Friday: “No, the opposite is true.” I want to work in the Premier League and I have said many times that I really like being in the UK. Chelsea, in my opinion, is the most suitable for me. I love being here and I love everything about the club.
“I hope this will continue,” he added. Now there is a mystery, but in football is it not always like this? I got used to living with it at different levels. But I’m hopeful that things will improve and end well.
The German coach said the change of club ownership could affect the club’s negotiations to renew the contracts of current players. He said Chelsea have not yet discussed his plans for the summer transfer window. We can not help it. That’s all. But it can have a positive effect on negotiations or a negative effect. We can not predict.
“I think Chelsea will be a strong club and a strong club. Our owner decided to sell the club, but he sells a strong and organized club at the highest level.
Chelsea are third in the league with 50 points from 25 games, 16 points behind leaders Manchester City, with two games remaining.
He will visit Burnley on Saturday and despite doubts about the involvement of defender Caesar Asbiliquetta, Tuchell said his team has not suffered any new injuries.
Like Trevor Salouba and Diego Silva, Hakim Jiech returned to training, but they did not take part in facing Loton Town in the FA Cup in the middle of the week.
