According to the British newspaper, the Daily Mail, the agency last month measured instruments and is preparing to track supernova remnants (SNR) in a galaxy called Cassiobia A.

It is the remnant of a giant star 11,000 light-years away, first seen in the 17th century, spreading across shock waves and heating up the surrounding gas, resulting in rapid cosmic ray particles emitting bright light in X-ray light.
IXPE integrates with the Chandra X-ray Telescope, one of NASA’s flagship space laboratories launched in 1999 to study various aspects of the X – ray spectrum.
