American rock star Meet Love, one of the best-selling records of all time on the album “Bad Out of Hell”, has died at the age of 74.

“We sadly announce in our hearts that the special Med Love passed away this evening with his wife Deborah,” a Facebook post read.

He mentioned that he had been with his daughters Pearl and Amanda and his close friends for the past 24 hours.

The publication did not specify the exact cause of death of the singer, but his artistic name means “meatloaf” in Arabic, referring to his large body.

He earned his place in the late seventies due to his vocal skills and his presence on stage, and in 1977 achieved worldwide success with his album Bad Out of Hell, which sold over 43 million copies.

Med Love renewed his career in 1993 with the song “I Do Too Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That”), for which he won the Grammy Award for American Academy of Music.

In his 60 years of life his albums have sold over 100 million.

Born in Texas, Mead Love (his real name is Marvin Le Ade) is also a filmmaker, appearing in the 1975 musical comedy The Rocky Horror Picture Show and in 1999 David Finger’s Fight Club.

Meat Love suffered from some health problems, especially his vocal cords. He resumed concerts in 2015 after a two-year hiatus, putting an end to rumors that he was retiring from singing.

After losing consciousness on stage in London in 2003 and in Pittsburgh in 2011, in 2016, he fell ill while on stage in Canada.
