“Fifth generation” stops “Emirates Airlines” flights to US destinations

Emirates Airlines has announced flights to several destinations in the United States from January 20, 2022.

The carrier added in a statement on its website that the suspension was due to operational concerns over plans to use fifth-generation mobile phone network services at some US airports in Chicago, Dallas and Fordworth. , Miami, Newark, Orlando, Seattle.

Emirates Airlines has announced that customers whose bookings have been canceled can reach their final destination through one of Emirates’ other locations in the United States with its partners in a “code-sharing” agreement via JetBlue or Alaska.

Emirates Airlines confirms continuity of its flights: New York, John F. Kennedy, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

It stated that the following flights would operate to Boston, Houston and San Francisco during the current period: January 20, 2022: Flights (EK 237 from Dubai to Boston, EK 225 from Dubai to San Francisco), (EK 211 from Dubai to Houston).

January 21, 2022: (Boston to Dubai EK 238), (EK 226 from San Francisco to Dubai), and (EK 212 from Houston to Dubai). It also said other flights to these destinations would be suspended.

Emirates Airlines apologized for any inconvenience to customers, noted that it was working with aircraft manufacturers and relevant authorities to alleviate operational concerns, and hopes to resume its services to these destinations soon.

A spokesman for Etihad Airways said the company was currently operating regular flights to New York, Washington DC and Chicago with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

In response to questions from Emirates Today, a spokesman explained that the United States’ plan to operate fifth-generation networks would have no impact on passenger aircraft currently operated by the company.
