Lickable TV screen to test the flavors of food on shows

A Japanese inventor has created a model of a “lickable” television screen that reflects the flavors of food on the show, another step in creating a multicensory viewing experience.

The device, called Taste the TV (TTTV), uses 10 flavor packs to create a specific food flavor. The taste sample is then rolled and placed on a flat screen TV to sample for the viewer.

The Guardian quoted Homi Miyashita, a professor at Meiji University in Tokyo, as saying that in the Covid-19 era, this kind of technology could improve people’s interaction with the outside world, helping them to have the same experience as eating at a restaurant on the other side of the target world.

Miyashita works with a team of about 30 students who have developed a variety of taste-related devices, including a fork that enhances the taste of food. He said he developed a prototype for TTTV last year and that the commercial version costs about $ 875.
