Karate Federation Assistant General Secretary Dr. Abdullah Al-Badi confirmed the participation of eight male and female players on behalf of Emirates “Karate” in the Islamic Unity Course currently taking place in Konya, Turkey. Al-Badi told “Emirates Today”: “The karate team will participate in individual and team (kata) competitions, as well as (kumithe) in a task that includes players: Ahmed Salem, Sulaiman Al-Mullah, Muhammad Al-Ansari, Marwan Al-Masmi, Yusuf Faraiduni and Abdul-Ghani Muhammad and two players, Hawrah Al-Ajmi and Fatima Salem. He added: “The team’s mission will depart on the 14th of this month and will include international referee Jafar Al-Jaabi, referees Khaled Sulaiman and Amina Haji. “
Regarding the team’s preparations, he said: “The team was prepared through a camp that lasted from the second to the seventh of this month at the Union Hall at Al-Wasl Club, especially since the camp came a few days after Emirati Karate. The Arab Championship was held in Cairo at the end of July, during which the team won six colorful medals, three gold and three bronze.
He continued, “Our ambitions are to continue reaping achievements, especially as the Islamic unity course is a great preparation for the team that will participate in the Senior World Championships in Turkey.”
