Moscow on Monday condemned the closure of three European countries’ airspace on a plane carrying its foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, who was the target of European sanctions due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine during a visit to Serbia. “Move.

“What happened is unimaginable,” Lavrov told a news conference, which was rushed through the internet. “A sovereign nation has lost the right to pursue its foreign policy,” he said, denouncing what he considers “shameful”.

The three NATO members, Bulgaria, northern Macedonia and Montenegro, have closed their airspace to the plane that was scheduled to take Lavrov’s plane to Serbia for a two-day trip. Ukraine on February 24.

“Such hostile actions against our country may cause some problems … but our diplomacy cannot be prevented from continuing its mission,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declared.

The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that “Russian aircraft have not been granted diplomatic permission to fly over the Bulgarian border” and stressed that the decision was “in line with EU sanctions on Russia”.

Northern Macedonia and Montenegro reported a similar decision to Russian embassies.

Lavrov was forced to cancel his trip to Serbia, where he was scheduled to meet in Belgrade, with Serbian President Alexander Vujic, Foreign Minister Nikola Silakovic and the patriot of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Borveriz.
